SCP Takes MAO! Posted By: Sean | Date: 5/7/2007

The boys are back in town after a long weekend in Rockhill, SC and have something to smile about! The team wasn't sure what to expect after leaving two of their rostered players behind due to unfortunate circumstances. They took a gamble by picking up unknown players to fill their roster but it definately paid off! SCP started off the tournament with a shaky match against Detroit Storm and a tough loss to Gridlock but wrapped up preliminaries at a respectable 3-1. Saturday brought rainy weather and the boys had to grind it out against DBS Kidz and Tropical Lighting. (Both teams beat SCP in LA) Two close matches resulted in a final four birth for the team and a win was in sight! Sunday cleared up and the sun came out just in time for the finals. SCP squared off against Hershey Heat with a convincing final score of 5-0 in SCP's favor. Gridlock skunked their semi-final oppenent QCK 5-0 to have a final bout with the boys on the PSP field. The match drew over a hundred spectators to the sidelines, most of them rooting for the home team. Gridlock came out strong putting a quick two points on the board but landed one of their players in the penalty box with a major. SCP capitalized and turned the tables making it 4-2 by the end of the penalty. Gridlock fought back hard with 5 strong and tied the game at 4 all and SCP decided to slow their momentum down by taking a time out. A quick decision to alter the breakout led SCP to claim the last point with three live ending the final match SCP: 5 and Gridlock: 4. The team would like to thank Daryl Ritacco, Christopher Awes, Pat Shelton, Adam Segrave, and Liam Jollymore for guesting with SCP and doing their part for the win! We would also like to thank Chris Sackmann from Team Speed for all the help in the pits and all of our sponsors for the ongoing support! See you all in Chicago for event number 3!

Core players keep it alive! Posted By: Sean | Date: 4/10/2007

It has been a little over a month since LA and SCP has endured the worst. Between players quitting, an under par debut, and much confusion, the remaining players are fighting to keep the Sin City Paintball legacy alive. It is a difficult task to keep an Xball team running efficiently and the boys have learned this the hard way. The team is currently undergoing a roster makeover and is looking for financially secure, experienced players that want to compete. If you are interested be sure to contact Sean McKay via his information on the contact page. SCP would like to thank all their followers for the continued support despite these rough times and the team cant wait to bounce back in May at MAO!

Back to the grind Posted By: Sean | Date: 3/8/2007

SCP has returned from LA disappointed and frustrated after an unexpected finish. The team dropped their first three matches due to many factors both on and off the field. "Our pit wasnt as organized as we would have liked and we lost our composure after the first few points of every match," said SCP player Bill Jacobs. A bright side to the event is that the team now has an idea of what to work on and that their last match proved what they are capable of. The team rallied to shut out Montreal NRG 5-0 by playing the contolled aggression style that they are known for. "That last match was us playing our game," said Kyle Guinta. "now we know what to do come MAO." SCP would like to thank all of their sponsors for the support and Ray Guinta for the extra help during the event. He was all over the place doing anything he could, Thanks Ray! The team is going to use these next two months to practice hard using LA as a learning experience. You can definately count on SCP bouncing back with a strong finish at event #2 in Carolina. All in all, the first event of the year was a great one with awesome weather and top notch competition. MAO is the next stop and the boys cant wait to prove themselves. Stay tuned for further news!

First Stop: LA! Posted By: Sean | Date: 2/12/2007

Only two weeks out! It is crunch time and the team knows that the first event is right around the corner. The Angels arrived just in time for a scrimmage against LTZ and the markers proved worthy and seem to handle the abuse of the Xball format! These next two weeks will be critical in preparation for LA and the boys will be working on various technical drills that will prevent them from getting unwanted penalties in their matches. SCP will be having a major gear sale at the field for the next few weeks because they have all new equipment coming from Draxxus. Keep checking the site for awesome deals and further news on the team's progress!
